
May 2025 Payment Schedule Released for All SASSA Grants
SASSA has released the payment schedule for May 2025. Beneficiaries can now check when their grants will be paid based on the last three digits of their ID or SASSA card number.
The payment schedule is designed to ensure an orderly distribution of grants throughout the month, preventing overcrowding at payment points and ensuring that beneficiaries receive their grants in a timely manner.
May 2025 Payment Schedule
The following schedule will be used for all SASSA grant payments in May 2025:

Note: If the payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday, payment will be made on the next business day.
Payment Methods
SASSA grants can be accessed through the following payment methods:
- Direct Bank Deposits: Grants will be deposited directly into the beneficiary's bank account on the scheduled payment date.
- SASSA Card: Beneficiaries can withdraw their grants from ATMs or make purchases at retailers using their SASSA card.
- Post Office: Grants can be collected at any South African Post Office branch on or after the scheduled payment date.
- Retail Merchants: Grants can be collected at participating retailers including Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite, Checkers, and USave.
Important Information for Beneficiaries
- Always bring your ID document when collecting your grant at a Post Office or retail outlet.
- SASSA cards can be used at any ATM or retailer that accepts bank cards.
- There is no need to queue early in the morning as funds will be available throughout the day on your payment date.
- If you cannot collect your grant on the scheduled date, it will remain available for collection for the rest of the month.
- SASSA never asks for payment to process grants. Be wary of scams and only use official SASSA channels.
